Hello all!
I'm not in the military myself. My son is a Captain in the Army, stationed at Fort Meade. My reason for joining this group is to make myself available to any military personnel stationed at or transferring to any military base in the Newport news, Hampton, Virginia Beach or Norfolk, Virginia area I'm a new member, so I don't offer much guidance, but I can put you in touch with a district leader and help you find a meeting.

you know now there's 100,00 people in the killeen city limits. Marty's has been in contact with Joe from California one of the vice general directors for activity duty soldier in the army, as dan has mentioned. we want to do shakubuku...i heard the average age is 23 years old here due to Fort Hood. We can't imagine how many people are unhappy, due to seperation from family members being deployed and all sorts of hardships. So we realize that we have such a great mission here in Killeen to share this buddhism with others so that they can be happy no matter what situations and circumstances they are in. soldier here are always being deployed. Killeen is a revolving door. thanks for reading the article!

At Fort Hood, Texas we started to have meetings at the 19th chapel on the military installation beginning of June. It's kinda going a bit slow right now for attendance however my husband says it's now been distributed to all the computers on base who has emails and really happy to share with you it's in the military's newspaper called the Fort Hood Sentinel.
please read if you wish:
type in www.forthoodsentinel.com and type in buddhist in the search field. the title of the article is "Buddhist Seminar conducted at fort hood."
have a great weekend everyone!

Kumi. Yes, it is. I'll let his Area Leader know and hopefully he pass the message on to him. The picture is over a year old, and I haven't seen him (Victor) since. However, I heard his Leader mention his name just last week, so he's still active and around.
