My mother-in-law,Gloria 78 and her family came from Piedmont.
Gloria used to speak Italian at home in NYC but she does not speak Italian anymore.
I've determine to send my son to the SUA or SU in Japan.
I keep on chanting for to live in Italy.
Thank you so much for chanting for Alba!
Ciao,
Aiko
thank you for your post. I will make sure to include Alba in my prayers. Come from the Region of Emilia-Romagna, born in Ravenna, spent my school years in Bologna, and lived until the age of 33 in Rimini, a lovely city by the Adriatic Sea. I love my region for the food, cheeses, wines, history, architecture, orchards, music, fish, beaches, hills, castles, etc. Rimini was actually one of the first Roman Harbors on the Adriatic, many Roman battles have been fought there. Rimini is also only 19 miles away from the historical Republic of San Marino, which is a republic within the republic of Italy. Within the Italian peninsula we have to foreign independent states, one if the Republic of San Marino, and the other is the richest state of the world, called the Vatican, where the pope resides. Well, there is so much more to say, but I don't want to write a book right here, (^_^)
As for the photo, that is Founders Hall at Soka University of America, Aliso Viejo, and it was taken a few years ago by a friend of mine, a member from England who lives now in France. He is a professional photographer. His name is Wade, I met him through one of the lists I belong, and when he came to the US, I took him to visit SUA, and then is when he took this photo. I think the years was 2004.
If you have such strong determination to go to Italy, keep on chanting and do it.
Take care
Lora
which part of Italy do you come from?
My husband's Italian American aunt,Alba passed away on 1st of June(this month)and She had a terminal liver cancer. I kept giving her hope and I told her and her daughter "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo". I chanted 3-5 hours every day for her. She had no pain at all when she passed and she took her last breaths as holding her daughter's hand.
She had a wonderful life and death.
I do believe that Alba will reborn as an Italian and she will chant in her new life. My mother-in -law,Gloria and Alba comes from Northern Italy. I've always wanted to live in Italy. I love Italy, everything in Italy. I feel I was an Italian in my past life. Did you take this photo by yourself? You attended the meeting?
Hugs

I wish my day had 36 hours! Not enough time to read what I love the most.
