About Me:

IT HAS TAKEN decades for me to start getting into a rhythm of activities and home visits that I am proud of. I only started to understand the Mentor-Disciple concept less than a year ago. My focus and prayer right now is to encourage and enable men to take care of men. When this is in my heart and when I take action on it, the flow of benefits is ceaseless.
It does not matter how long we've been practicing Buddhism. What matters is how correctly and passionately we are practicing at this very moment.

SPRING INTO SUMMER (JUNE 2008)

June 17th Stan called yesterday, need to pull the June 28th event together. Sent out pfds on a map, BART schedule and flier.
June 15th Stephanie and I officiated at a memorial service for the Hsu family. It was at Skylawn and plenty of fog and wind. Mrs. Hsu is bright as a pioneer member, a real lightbulb of a lady. Met her grandkids and tried to speak to their hearts about Nichiren Buddhism.

BUDDHISM FROM non-BUDDHISTS

"LIFE'S SPLENDOR forever lies in wait about each one of us in all its fullness, but veiled from view, deep down, invisible, far off. It is there, though, not hostile, not reluctant, not deaf. If you summon it by the right word, by its right name, it will come. "~Kafka "HAPPI… Continue

MORE OF THE SAME -- April and May 2008

May 31st, Saturday Missed the Area Clean-up at SFCC, had to help out my mother. Sent out an email reminder with graphic and new invitation gadget about next Sunday's KRG and the Spring into Summer Celebration.
May 30th, Friday I think it was today or maybe Wednesday I visited Sandi in the extended care facility. Her spirits are good, if not great. Taka has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He was a very important person in my practice back in the early 1990's. He dro… Continue

My Human Revolution; Young at Heart, Old in All Other Parts / mar 08

March 31st Visited MD. March 29th Guidance with Bob H. Decided not to be an activities junkie
March 28th Wayne visited at 7 pm.
March 26th Tonight attended a meeting with strong SGI people. Good place for me when I'm unusually despondent.
March 25th Taking care of family is as important, if not more, as taking care of members. Spent awhile on the phone to remind Chapter Ldrs. of a Saturday meeting. Stan S. had to remind me about it.

Walt Whitman, preface to the 1855 edition of "Leaves of Grass"

"LOVE THE EARTH and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families... re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any bo… Continue

Hi Bruce!
I totally share what you wrote about yourself. Specially this part "When this is in my heart and when I take action on it, the flow of benefits is ceaseless."

To My Lovely Friends- wishing you all a new Beginning, Happy Easter and a Sweet Weekend

The naked earth is warm with Spring,
And with green grass and bursting trees
Leans to the suns kiss glorying,
And quivers in the sunny breeze.

Those who believe in the Lotus Sutra are as if in winter, but winter
always turns to spring.
